Gensym G2 Interfaces
G2 is unique in that it very easily communicates simultaneously to wide a variety of data source.
This includes databases through ODBC or Oracle, real-time systems through direct bridges or
OPC, data historians, direct socket communication, and equipment through serial RS232/422, etc.
G2 includes features for SOAP, HTTP servers, etc. The key strength is combining the different data
sources in a real-time, event-based, multi-threaded environment where data abstraction,
reasoning, and reporting can occur.
ILS has extensive experience integrating a variety of data sources. This includes databases,
real-time systems, data historians and equipment. In applications call for data acquisition of a
variety of equipment, instruments or analyzers contact ILS. ILS has extensive experience
integrating equipment from analytical instruments such HPLC and MS to instruments with serial
communication such as scales, pumps, gas meters, gas analyzers, etc.
ILS provides software, bridge interfaces for the Gensym G2 real-time software platform. A
Dynamic Data Exchange or (DDE) and Serial RS232 422 software bridges are currently available.
These out-of-the box bridges provide real-time communication to other DDE-enabled software
packages and serial enabled equipment.
In addition to these bridges, ILS has the experience to develop robust, real-time communication
bridges for the Gensym® G2 platform. This includes the software knowledge bases (KBs),
interface bridges, and G2 development expertise to support real-time communication to
third-party software or solid-state equipment.
