Batch Expert 5.2 Released
ILS recently released Batch Expert version
5.2. The new version increases the productivity of Batch Expert
SCADA and expert system applications by incorporating new features and
improving the ease-of-use of existing interfaces.
-
The addition of report quality real-time
and historical charts. The charts are based upon the
GigaSoft
ProEssentials charting package. New interfaces to configure
charts. Users can configure chart templates where the template is
applied to different historical or batch units. Users can share
the templates with other users or assign the template as a default
process unit chart. Users can customize the look of the
trend chart with multiple subplots, y-axes, trends, colors, etc.
-
Enhanced alarming and configuration.
Engineers or scientists can now have general alarms classes. For
example, consider a temperature alarm. The temperature alarm is
now easily applied to multiple vessels of the same type, no repetitive
configuration of individual alarms for each process unit. Improved
configuration of alarms for PID controllers where the developer
can quickly monitor deviations from set-point.
-
Support for latest real-time deployment
of neural network models for prediction, classification and monitoring.
Several neural network types are now supported.
-
Tree-views to browse and monitor process
units. Users can now quickly browse process units through a
traditional tree-view. The icons of the tree-view animate to
indicate the current procedure/operation of the unit i.e. sterilization,
fermentation, reaction etc. In addition, the icons animate to
indicate systems type errors.
-
Enhanced operator interfaces for phase
control of batch recipes. Engineers or scientists can quickly
configure recipe operations (or recipe phases) that require a
confirmation from an operator before executing. Each recipe can
have separate operations or phases. When a recipe is
selected the operation or phase control buttons are dynamically created
for the operator. The buttons have built-in checks and balances to
ensure the operations or phases are carried out in the correct order.
-
Entry and reporting of off-line
measurements. Engineers or scientists can quickly configure
off-line data assay entry. The configuration is recipe based.
The configuration provides the operator or technician a specific
interface to enter assay data as it becomes available. This can be
during a batch run or after a batch run completes. Once entered
the data is available for trending, reporting and if collected during
the batch process control or monitoring.
ILS is committed to improving Batch Expert
to meet the needs of our customers. This includes adding new
features but also improving the usability of existing features.
Screenshots of Batch Expert 5.2 illustrating the features will be made
available. If you or your company is interested in a free, web-based
