Batch Expert SCADA, Data Management and Reporting

Batch Expert provides process management for batch processes in the pharmaceutical,
biotechnology, energy, chemical, food, and consumer products industries.  Batch Expert consists of
the components required for recipe management, plant-floor control and batch reporting.

  • Real-time, rule-based supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) that integrates
reactors, instruments and analyzers from a variety of vendors.  Develop and manage batch
recipes, execute supervisory control, monitor and measure batch equipment performance,
    and archive data.

  • SQL compliant data historian based upon Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle that archives recipe,
batch header, instrument and off-line data.  An open schema provides the most flexibility to
    control and report data.

  • Electronic batch reporting (EBR) of recipe, batch header and in-process data.  Open source
nature of the database schema provides flexibility in managing the types of reports and
    specific reporting tools.

  • Well suited for fermentation and bioreactor applications.  Fully functional alternative to
Sartorius®  B. Braun MFCS (MFCS/win), New Brunswick Scientific® BioCommand and
BioCommand Plus, Applikon®  BioXpert, and other similar software packages.

  • Nearly limitless options for integration of equipment controllers, instruments and analyzers
for data acquisition and control.  ILS can integrate OPC or SQL compliant systems, equipment
with a serial interface (RS232/RS485), DDE interface, analog communication (4-20 mA or
voltage signals) and socket-based Ethernet components.

  • Batch recipe management and recipe transfer.  Manage and execute recipes across a variety
of equipment from bench-top to pilot-scale to production.  Recipe manage a variety of batch
functions and can incorporate flexible features such as rule or event based control and
monitoring.  Can incorporate recipe structure based upon the ISA S88 guideline.
